Mylar and Embroidery

I've had a lot of people ask about mylar, what it is and how do you use it?  Well I didn't know either so I did a google search and came up with this informative blog. http://thesewbox.blogspot.com/2010/04/mylar-opal-iridescent-film-for.html      I did find out that you can wash it and it stays the same...just fine.  Use designs that have see thrus....so you get the effect of the mylar.....but not applique, as there is a difference. Check out this blog.   Its very informative on the subject of mylar.  Also check this out.  http://www.heirloomsbysharon.com/whatismylar.htm  

Customer Project from Robin in MO.

Robin stitched out the 5x7 cross and put silver mylar behind it.  Itsn't it beautiful.  I just love this.  If anyone knows how to use mylar please post it to me.  I've never used it and just don't know....This cross is just so beautiful....  Here is a close up of it.  It just looks so awesome...Thank you Robin...for sharing this beautiful cross with us.
